“Pilate had a notice prepared and fastened to the cross. It read: JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS. Many of the Jews read this sign, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and the sign was written in Aramaic, Latin and Greek.” (John 19:19-20)

In order to get one more dig in at the leaders of the Jews, Pilate had this notice placed above Jesus. Probably to say, “Look, how pitiful, your king crucified like a criminal.”
What’s ironic, though, is that it’s absolutely true! Jesus is the King- the King of all. As the King of all Jesus was doing what no other king could do: He went into battle to defeat our greatest enemies of sin, death, and Satan on the cross.
Is Jesus the King of your life? Do you worship Him as King? Do you honor Him as King in all your thoughts, words, and actions?
Thank the Lord that we have a King who died on the cross to pay for all our failures! Jesus, your King, died to rescue you!
That’s why we call it “Good Friday.”
Bowing my life to my true King, just like you,
