Sunday Announcements

Sunday, March 7th, 2019

Next Sunday is Palm Sunday, and we will once again have a palm processional at the beginning of our worship service. All are welcome to join in the procession. Please gather in the narthex to receive a palm.

Sunday School children, don’t forget your Lenten mission offering bags to be collected when palms are brought up to the front of church on Palm Sunday. The mission is CAMM, Central Africa Medical Mission. Any adults interested in contributing may bring their offerings at that time too. If you have questions talk to a Sunday School teacher or Donna Schroeder.
The children will be singing on May 5 (not April 28 as in the March Newsletter). Please have your children here by 8:45 so they are ready to sing at the end of first service.

Please sign up if you are interested in purchasing flowers to beautify the church for Easter Sunday. Make checks payable to St. Mark’s and indicate “Easter flowers” in the memo line.

You are invited to attend the Lutheran Women’s Missionary Society Spring Rally of the Upper Mississippi Circuit to be held at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Grand Rapids, MN on Saturday April 27, 2019 from 9:30-2:15. The featured speaker will be Linda Leisner, speaking on the Central African Medical Mission. Carpooling is available. LWMS mission offering envelopes have been distributed in your mailbox. Please return mission offerings to Marjorie Gildersleeve by April 10 (checks made out to St. Mark’s Ladies Guild). See insert for more information.

The Stewardship Board is again sponsoring our annual Time and Talent Auction on Sunday, April 28, 2019 after the 10:30 service. Mark your calendar for an afternoon of fun and fellowship. Please consider making a donation to the auction and let the Stewardship Board or Douglas Kranich know what you are donating. For your convenience a donation form has been placed in your mailbox.

Our member photo board is a great way to match a name to a face. If you have had additions or changes to your family, or would just like to have your photo updated, please find Carol Kranich to have a new picture taken. Carol will be available the next few weeks between services and after second service.

The Community Food Shelf is an on going program.  Please consider a donation once a month? Every other week?  We have volunteers waiting to deliver any donations received on behalf of St Mark’s. Would you like to take of tour of the Food Shelf facility?  See Pat Berget, 759-1321.

Mark your calendars and start collecting that stuff you no longer need for St. Mark’s “free garage sale” on Saturday, June 8th. We will start taking donations on Sunday, June 2nd. Donations can be dropped off at the church all that week. If it is possible to sort your items before you drop them off that would be greatly appreciated! For anyone who would like to help, we will have set up on Friday, June 7th. Help will also be needed on Saturday morning and for clean up.
