What does it mean when God says we are justified through faith?

If we do a bad deed and by law we are to be punished for it, our punishment is justified according to our misdeed. In the courtroom this justification is a declaration by the judge what a person has to do to repay society for their misdeed. In God’s courtroom, he has said that the wages of sin is death; our punishment for sinning should be eternal death with the devil. However, God’s love for us is so great, he declared us “not guilty” because of his son Jesus who died on the cross to take away all of our sins. This is how God justifies our salvation. We enjoy God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense. One way to think of “justification” is JUST as IF I hadn’t sinnED. This is how God sees us. There is nothing for us to do to secure our salvation, God has done it all. God does not save “really nice people” because they are nice, or those who justify themselves by their good deeds thinking that God would not send a good person to hell. Since we cannot do anything to save ourselves, the only way we can lose our salvation is to reject this truth that God alone has saved us through his Son Jesus Christ. Wow! What peace and joy Christians have knowing that God has justified us to have eternal life with him in heaven!

Gods Word on Justification: NIV
Romans 3:23,24: For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
Titus 3:7: So that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.
