“You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this” (Acts 3:15)

“My you’ve changed!” “Look at how much he’s grown!” “I barely recognized you!” Have you ever said those things to someone? Maybe you’ve heard someone say those things to you. The reality is: people do change. Sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse.
Who do you think spoke the words of this text? Did you guess Peter? If you did, you’re right. In fact, he’s probably talking to a sizable crowd of people. A few weeks before this, however, what did he do? In order to save his own skin he denied even knowing Jesus and being associated with Jesus with oaths and swearing.
But now? Bold, confident, freely and publicly telling people about Jesus. Why the change? What made the difference? Jesus rose from the dead! Jesus is alive! Jesus died for his sins and rose to prove they are all forgiven. So…he changed. Jesus’ resurrection changed him!
The same is true for you! Will there ever be a day when Jesus is less risen from the dead? Will there ever be a day when your sins are less forgiven? Will there ever be a day when Jesus hasn’t already won heaven for you? Jesus’ resurrection changes everything, you and me included!
So no matter what day it is for you, stressful, busy, sad, glad, know that Jesus’ resurrection gives you real peace, real confidence, real courage.
Changed by Jesus’ resurrection, just like you,
pastor
