Sermons on What we Believe, Summer 2015

The 2015 summer sermon series, ‘What We Believe’ explained our church’s core beliefs.

Sermon Schedule:

God’s given you an eternal purpose!

16th Sunday after Pentecost, Matthew 28:19-20, Mark 16:15-16, Luke 24:46-48, John 20:19-23, 2 Corinthians 5:14-21
God wants us to focus on the purpose and mission He’s given us: To continue to grow in our salvation and continue to go with God’s good news taking it to more and more people.

God gives you…Himself!

8th Sunday after Pentecost, 1 Corinthians 10 and 11
And that’s why it’s so crucial to understand and hold on to this truth – the truth that we really do receive Jesus’ body and blood in the sacrament. It’s not just a symbol, it’s not just a sign, it’s not just a representation. Rather, there’s a remarkable reality and a rich reward in the Supper.

God’s Law is Beautiful!

7th Sunday after Pentecost, Romans 7:1-3, 8:3-4
We might like to quit hearing the law, to quit hearing that God is holy, that He demands holiness, and that we’re sinners. It hurts. But, it’s sure worth it! For the law leads me back to Jesus and His forgiving love; it guides me in living in a way which actually works. So we agree – God’s law – it’s a beautiful thing!
