“Praise the LORD. Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.” (Psalm 106:1)

What are you thankful for on this Thanksgiving Day?

Think with me for just a moment. Do you see that loaf of bread (or that brown rice for those who are gluten-free đŸ™‚ on your counter? How did it get there? Well, there had to be seeds – a bunch of them – planted in some field somewhere, there needed to be people to operate machinery to plant the seeds, fertilize those seeds, water those seeds. There had to be rain to fall. There had to be Someone to cause those seeds to sprout and grow. There had to be fuel to run the machinery. The sun had to shine. There had to be equipment and people to transport the harvested grain and to process it. There had to be bakers to bake it. There had to be a store and people to run the store to sell it. You had to have the health, the means, and the ability to get to the store to buy it. Over all that, there had to be an army to protect our land to keep it peaceful so war wasn’t fought destroying the plants in the field, police to make sure society was stable enough for you to go to the store and get it, and there had to be air for the plants to grow and you to breathe so you can live to enjoy that piece of bread. Wow! And there’s a ton more just for a piece of bread!!

Finally, all these things come as blessings from God. What amazing love of God that HE gives us so many things to preserve and protect our bodies and lives day after day! What amazing love of God that He does this for us sinners not because we’ve earned it but because of the forgiveness and grace that is ours in Christ our Savior!

Let us thank and praise our loving God for all that He has done and continues to do for our bodies and souls!

A blessed Thanksgiving Day to you!
